Hi! I’m so sorry I’m replying late to your comment! I just saw it. I’m using a new interface for my blog and I’m not seeing responses like I used to — sorry! So you’re a Mom of Boys!!! How wonderful!!! It sure would be fun to dress up a little man! My husband is an Eagle Scout and I think he would have enjoyed being part of the Boy Scouts again. I know that girls can join Boy Scouts now too, but since I was a Girl Scout I think I’d push for that route instead.

Let me know how the recipe goes if you make and if you have any questions. Blood oranges are my fav. What kind are you growing. And did you say acreage? Lucky!!!

Thanks for your reply. I am truely envious of such a beautiful little girl. I had boys and always wanted one. You are very lucky.

I noted your suggestions on the recipe and wanted to make them for a bunch of ladies due to visit. I do believe there is a Persian Market here in Houston, so I will check, but I had done the research and found Trader Joe’s and of courses they are here so I will check but also found them on Amazon surprisingly.
As far as growing another type tree on my acreage my husband probably would not agree with the work involved. We have Meyers as you do and Blood oranges, which I love to cook and bake with.

Thanks for dropping by and thank you for the compliments! It can be challenging to find sour cherries frozen too and I’m not sure why. There are two other options: you can find them at Trader Joe’s in a jarred light syrup. They are not the Montmorency variety, but still delicious, however I find some of the pucker is missing. If you use these then you can simply spoon the cherries with the syrup into the little tarts. I’ve also found sour cherries, which I believe are the Montmorency type, packed in a light sweet water by Sadaf which you can find at Persian Markets or MIddle Eastern stores. In this case, you will need to add sugar to the cherry water and reduce and add a little cornstarch just as in the recipe above. Because the cherries have been packed in water they do loose that bright red color, but the taste is closer to fresh. Or plant a Montmorency tree! (and wait a few years…)
