It’s good to be home for the holidays to see friends and family and EAT! Bay Area food is delicious– fresh, organic, seasonal, technically challenging, exciting to the palette, and representitive of the incredible diversity that San Franciscan’s cherish.

Angels

For Christmas eve we asked our parents to do something San Franciscan for dinner. Nothing too fussy, just real SF food. We were pleasantly surpised by a crab feast. Cracked crabs with drawn butter, ceasar salad, a loaf of Acme Sourdough bread, and J sparkling wine. Simple, light tasting, and Californian. Ahhhhhh, the good life 🙂

Crabfeast

Dessert was a fun surprise– warm brownies a la mode with a bing cherry basalmic sauce. A satistying adult version of my childhood favorite. The brownies mix was of course none other than the SF Ghiradelli chocolate kind.

Brownies

After dinner we lit the candles on the Christmas tree and opened presents by the fire. I gave my husband a guitar that he’s been hinting at for awhile. I’m not quite sure how we’re going to get it back to Paris but we’ll manage somehow. Even my Cairn terrier, Annie, got to open her presents– a santa chew toy. It’s good to be home.
